Not sure which option fits best?
That’s perfectly okay. We’ll talk through goals, experience level, and schedule during your free intro lesson and decide together.

How do I enroll in lessons?
Please first sign up for a free introductory lesson above. In our first meeting, we can decide together what lesson pacing might work best! The above information is for your reference.
What is a free intro lesson?
The free intro lesson is a short, no-pressure session to:
-
Meet your teacher
-
Explore the student’s interests and goals
-
Experience how a Musical Growth lesson feels
-
Ask questions before committing
It’s about fit and comfort — not a sales pitch.
Is the intro lesson really free?
Yes! There is no cost and no obligation to continue.
Do we need to prepare anything for the intro lesson?
No preparation is required.
If the student already plays or sings, they’re welcome to share something they enjoy. If they’re brand new, that’s completely fine, too — we can start wherever they are.
Should parents stay during lessons?
For ages 6 to 7, parent involvement is encouraged, but not required – proximity is helpful to keep us on track.
For ages 8 to 12, it depends on comfort and maturity level.
For ages 13 to 18+, it’s entirely optional.
What happens after the intro lesson?
After the session, you’ll have a clear sense of:
-
Whether ongoing lessons feel like a good fit
-
What scheduling would look like
-
How MusicalGrowth supports long-term growth
There’s never pressure to continue.
Do you teach adults?
Yes. Adults of all experience levels are welcome — beginners, returning players, and lifelong learners. There are many times the parents of students join in and take lessons, too!
Is this good for shy, anxious, or discouraged students?
Yes — this is a core part of the approach.
MusicalGrowth emphasizes:
-
Emotional safety
-
Encouragement without pressure
-
Confidence before perfection
-
Curiosity over criticism
Students who’ve had negative experiences elsewhere often feel relief here.
Do you focus on classical training, jazz improv, or creative exploration?
All three — depending on the student!
Some students prefer structure and traditional repertoire.
Others thrive in improvisation and creative exploration.
Lessons are tailored to the individual.
What are your studio policies?
The usual standard policies, such as at least a 24-hour advance notice in rescheduling or cancelling unless in time of emergencies.
If you'd like review the studio policies, you can do so here:
