For those who need a break from the noise, but can’t afford to break the bank, there a few relatively affordable earphones that allow you to listen and relax with uninterrupted vibes.

If you’re curious about Buddhist music, feel free to do some research first.

Noise-Canceling Earphones

I grew up with earphones and headphones like most other musicians – listening to music on runs, between classes, or even in classes. But when I first bought noise cancelling earphones (on accident!), my life was changed.

As a music producer, my studio headphones have always been the standard, but earphone technology has surprisingly come close!

When you need to zone out or listen to some guided meditation, distractions can be the absolute worst. Earphones CAN block out noise and soon the money you’ve invested in nice noise cancelling gear will begin to pay for itself.

Whether it’s for travel, meditation, sleep, or exercise, consider upgrading your dinky earphones to some high-powered, noise-cancelling earphones!

Below is a list of the five top earphones to consider, from cheapest ($36) to most expensive ($250).

1. TaoTronics: Noise Cancelling Earphones with Microphone/Remote ($36.79)

Some Advertised Features:

  • Active Noise Cancelling Functionality
  • Increase Awareness with Monitoring Mode
  • Built-In Noise Cancelling Microphone
  • Aluminum Build

The noise reduction technology isn’t top-notch, but you may feel more comfortable running outside or sitting in the park when wearing earphones that can be replaced. The price speaks for itself!

The “lesser” quality of these earphones may be worth dealing with because wearing them is almost unnoticeable due to the lightweight design!

And the cheaper “quality” might not even be noticeable! Many have said these earphones are close to BOSE quality earphones (around $200).

2. Linner: NC50 Active Noise Cancelling Earphones ($69.99)

Some Advertised Features:

  • Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones
  • Sweatproof
  • Monitoring Mode
  • Extended bass and dynamic sounds
  • 13 hours playback
  • Neckband magnetic design
  • Microphone
  • Works with iPhone, Android, or PC (or Apple Watch)

For the price, quality, and extended features, these earphones offer quite the competition to the higher priced BOSE opponents.

The comfortable nature of their design fit perfectly, even comes with eight pieces of earbuds (extra in case you lose some). The great microphone and promise for “dynamic sound” is an amazing deal for under $100. It is the most promising pair so far!

As the best choice (in my opinion), I created a more details article about this product where I took reviews from 10 sources online and took the average. Numbers don’t lie and I calculated a great rating off averages from online data!

I wrote entire article on these bad boys, so it may be worth reading more! Although it is more pricey compared to my cheaper option, understand that any piece of technology is a chance to invest. The more money you spend, the longer they last!

3. Libratone: Q ADAPT Lightning In-Ear Noise Cancelling Earphones ($119)

  • Only four buttons

These “lightning” earphones come packed with a strong design, durable material, and expert technology in order to provide great sound for a noise-cancelled, private atmosphere.

They do tend to fall out of your ear though and are known to drain phone battery life if you’re not careful (according to some reviewers).

Others, such as “d.thompson,” consider these the best on the market. It’s hard to say if these are potential winners, but as a tip when purchasing, buy straight from the manufacturer (Libratone) in order to get a 30-day, no questions asked, money-back guarantee. Less risk that way!

4. BOSE: SoundSport Wireless Headphones ($149.95)

Some Advertised Features:

  • Comfortable and Stable
  • Sweat and weather resistant
  • Tangle free

BOSE has always been a trusted brand for quality audio technology, but is the price always worth it? Although the customer review are all over the map, you really can’t go wrong with the trusted brand, BOSE.

From what I’ve found with these, there is some really good and really… not so good factors to consider:

  • Difficult to connect to Androids (primarily made for Apple products)
  • The comfort level is unparalleled and can be worn for hours!

The built-in microphone seems better than the iPhone’s built-in microphone, but the noise cancellation isn’t top-notch as it appears it doesn’t block out much noise.

For running and athletic sports, this product would be more than suitable. But for sitting and listening, these headphones aren’t as impressive as they should be for the price!

5. BOSE: QuietComfort 20 ($249.95)

BOSE QuietComfort 20

Some Advertised Features:

  • Noise cancelling technology
  • “Aware Mode” at the press of a button
  • Active EQ (equalizing audio) and TriPort technology

Another BOSE option! These earphones seem to offer top-notch quality in sound AND noise cancellation with a comfortable design that stays in the ears.

The price on the other hand can definitely break the bank, but the ease of use, the overall quality/durability, and sleek design can make for a GREAT investment. So much so that it might make the higher price worth it.

Conclusion

After reviewing some of the top earbuds on the market for noise cancellation, I would consider #2 (Linner NC50) to be the best option in both quality and price (read my more intricate article review here!).

If you have no objection with spending and investing in some earbuds, the BOSE are hard to beat, but the Linner earphones are so close in quality, it might be worth saving almost $200 in the process. You could literally buy an extra 2 pairs of the Linner earbuds for the price of one BOSE QuietComfort earphones!
